Community Development Program

Missionaries of the poor

2023 saw us adopting another community, this year it was the Missionaries of the Poor in San Andres Bukid, Manila.  The Missionaries of the Poor in Manila was established in October 2011, an international mission by the religious institute of the Brothers of Pontifical Right founded by Fr Richard Ho Lung with the mission to give hope to the poor and homeless.

Fellows of Section IX held an outreach activity that benefited over 100 children including those with special needs.  Oral health instructions, fluoride application and tooth brushes were distributed to the beneficiaries.  Big smiles and laughter filled the room as we shared a meal with the children and brother of MOP.

This was lead by Outreach community chair, Fellow Bgen. Reynaldo Torres, co-chair Fellow Gender Delos Reyes together with fellows of ICD Section IX.

This Pay-it-Forward project aims to collect donations of clothing and shoes from the fellows and their family members.  This project seeks to address the lack of adequate clothing and footwear of individuals and families in need and at the same time engage the fellows and their family members in a collective effort to contribute to a noble cause, foster a sense of social responsibility
